LiDAR Mapping & Terrain Intelligence

When photogrammetry stops at the canopy, LiDAR goes through it — classified point clouds and bare-earth terrain models that make alignment design, hydrology and forestry analysis possible in vegetated terrain.

Where LiDAR is the right tool

Vegetated corridors, forested watersheds and canal alignments hide the ground from cameras. LiDAR pulses penetrate gaps in the canopy and return true ground elevations, producing the bare-earth DTM that road, rail, canal and transmission designers actually need.

Our corridor workflow — flight planning, control, point-cloud classification, breakline extraction and contour generation — delivers directly into alignment design software as DWG and LandXML-compatible outputs.

Classification you can audit

Every point cloud is classified (ground, vegetation classes, buildings, water) to project specification and delivered as LAS/LAZ with a classification report. We process in open toolchains (PDAL, CloudCompare), so nothing about your data is locked to a vendor.

LiDAR + imagery together

Most projects pair LiDAR with simultaneous imagery: the ortho gives context and feature capture; the LiDAR gives terrain truth. One mobilization, two complementary datasets, a single accountable partner.

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose LiDAR over drone photogrammetry?
Choose LiDAR when you need ground elevations under vegetation, engineering-grade corridor terrain, or dense forestry metrics. Choose photogrammetry when visual detail and cost-efficiency on open sites matter most. Many projects use both from one mobilization.
Can you deliver directly for road/canal design software?
Yes — bare-earth surfaces, breaklines, cross-sections and contours are delivered as DWG and LandXML-compatible files that alignment design packages import directly.
What accuracy can LiDAR achieve?
On hard open surfaces, vertical accuracy better than 10 cm is standard and independently reported per project; under canopy, accuracy depends on penetration and is documented in the QC report.
Do you also extract trees and canopy metrics?
Yes — canopy height models, crown delineation and per-tree statistics for forestry and plantation-monitoring projects are a KE2 specialty.
